SOUTHERN KINGS SUPPORT #FILLOURSTADIUM CAMPAIGN

With the Southern Kings eagerly awaiting their next Vodacom Super Rugby home fixture against the Cell C Sharks on Saturday, 13 May 2017, the side is overwhelmed and excited by the response to the good on-field results the side has gained.

Following a successful tour of Australia where the team beat the Waratahs in their final match and a thrilling 44-3 win against the Melbourne Rebels at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium last week, the Southern Kings now hope that the positive messages of support received, particularly on social media platforms, will translate to an increase of numbers of supporters who come to the stadium to support the team.

The Southern Kings have noted with interest the backing of our loyal fans and fully support the call to #FillOurStadium for our next match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

The Spar Ladies’ Fun Walk takes place in Port Elizabeth on Saturday, 6 May 2017, and Southern Kings players, led by captains Schalk Ferreira and Lionel Cronje, will be in attendance to show their support and at the same time officially launch the #FillOurStadium campaign.

Southern Kings COO Charl Crous endorsed the call for the team’s supporters from across the province and elsewhere in the country to fill the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, emphasising the importance of increased support at the stadium in ensuring the team continues to perform well on the pitch.

“The support the team has received since the Australian tour and victory against the Melbourne Rebels has been amazing. The Southern Kings’ performance has been influenced by the positive support the team has been receiving. If we see this support being converted to numbers that walk through our stadium gates, then we can be assured that the team will continue to make history on the field in the Vodacom Super Rugby competition. We are yet to see the number of supporters that we have translated to attendance numbers on our match days, but now we hope to see as many of our loyal fans filling the seats of our beautiful stadium in our remaining home matches,” Crous said.

Fans are encouraged to buy their tickets well in advance ahead of the next Saturday’s match. Tickets cost R60 for the East Stand, R80 for the West Stand and can be purchased online on www.ticketpros.co.za, at all TicketPro outlets and at the TicketPro ticket office at Imatu House on Prince Alfred Road at the Stadium.

Fans who will be in attendance at the next home match will not only be entertained by the Vodacom Super Rugby match between the Southern Kings and Cell C Sharks, but also a curtain-raiser which will see a provincial derby as the Eastern Province Kings take on Border Bulldogs in a SuperSport Rugby Challenge clash.

There will also be live music entertainment and a wide range of food options with Food Trucks at the stadium.
